From scaling startups to summiting peaks: Why we had to build Flourish ourselves.
If you look for standard climate VCs, you usually find a specific archetype. That's not us. We are women who have spent decades inside the machine — scaling massive startups, handling corporate strategy of billion dollar companies, and deploying venture capital into high-impact climate technologies.
But we are also endurance athletes who run and ski the alpine ridges we are trying to save from low snow packs, and daughters who love to sit in a thriving garden with our mums. We believe that a genuine connection with the natural world makes us all more resilient and more clear-eyed about what's actually at stake. Despite years of traditional climate investing, we are witnessing the rapid degradation of nature in real-time — which is why we urgently need new, flexible capital tools deployed right now to fund immediate adaptation and resilience.
We are not separate from the ecosystems we are trying to save. We seek to be in right relationship with them — symbiotic, not extractive. Nature has been quietly absorbing our costs for centuries. We don't take that for granted.
We know how to structure a term sheet, and we know what healthy soil feels like between our toes. You need both to save our wild spaces, our food systems, and the broader ecosystems we need to flourish — from your favorite trail to your backyard garden.
